Foster or Adopt
There are thousands of greyhounds looking for their forever home, or somewhere they will be cared for.
Why Adopt a Greyhound
Not only will adopting a pet greyhound change their life, but it will change yours too.
Greyhounds might be fast when running, but are naturally very calm and gentle animals, who often sleep throughout most of the day. These sensitive souls love nothing more than human companionship.
Unfortunately, the greyhound racing industry breeds twice as many dogs as it can rehome so there is always a surplus of dogs who need a caring forever home.
How you can help: foster, adopt, donate
There are private greyhound rescue and rehoming groups across Australia. These groups are run on donations and volunteer determination. They have a wealth of experience at matching the right people with the right greyhound. And they would love to hear from you.
If you can’t commit to a dog of your own, why not try fostering? Most rescue groups will pay for food, bedding, collars, leads, vet care and so on, all you need to supply is time, effort and love.
Rescuing dogs costs money. If you can, please consider making a donation to support a rescue group in their life-saving work.
