The good and bad sides of Triple M

On the west coast, Triple M has been offering free airtime for a campaign aiming to help rescued racing greyhounds find their forever homes.

On the east coast, Triple M has sponsored races at the Dubbo Greyhound Racing Club, supporting a dog-killing track and its president.

In WA, a team that included Soundbyte, Hearts & Science, voice-over artist Joel Jackson and freelancer Alida Henson have created a radio campaign to help Greyhound Adoptions WA find homes for their rescued greyhounds.

Southern Cross Austereo and ARN have donated airtime in support of the campaign through the Hit and Triple M networks.

On the other hand, Triple M sponsored races at the Dubbo greyhound race meeting on 16 March 2024, including promoting the Jodi and Matho breakfast show.

Triple M Dubbo receives notifications of deaths at the Dubbo track. Since 2020 eight dogs have been killed on the track and more than 800 been injured. More dogs would have died off the track from their injuries.

The president of the Dubbo greyhound racing club, Shayne Stiff, was fined in 2020 for a racist and abusive verbal tirade at the track, with children present.

He then became president of Greyhound Clubs NSW.

Triple M has been asked twice for comment.  Which is the real Triple M?
