Since 2021 rugby league player Ryan Papenhuyzen has been a paid ambassador of Greyhound Racing NSW and Greyhounds As Pets.
He says: “Greyhound racing is a sport I love and know very well, and I have actually been a participant through ownership of a few racing dogs.”
On 8 September 2023 he was “sent straight to hospital with a suspected broken ankle.”
On 8 September 2023 twenty-two-month-old Miss Apex died from a “fatal injury” after colliding with another greyhound at Richmond NSW track.
