The Q in Ipswich Queensland is Australia’s deadliest greyhound racing complex.
At least 21 greyhounds have been killed due to racing injuries they suffered at The Q since March 2025 and 597 have been injured.
The Queensland Government squandered $44m of taxpayer money on this death trap and we’re calling on them to take responsibility for the dogs they are sacrificing to the gambling industry.
Conditions at The Q are so bad that the Brisbane Cup, the biggest race in a decade, had to be abandoned on Saturday 5 July. Despite knowing beforehand that conditions at The Q were unsafe, the Cup went ahead with two races, injuring at least one greyhound, before the race meeting was abandoned.
We are calling on the Queensland Government to urgently suspend racing at The Q.
We are also calling on the government to withdraw all public funding from greyhound racing and to end greyhound racing in Queensland.

The Q is a multi-track greyhound racing complex situated at Purga just south of Ipswich, west of Brisbane in south-east Queensland.
The Q cost $86m, with $44.1m coming from taxpayers. This makes it the most expensive greyhound venue in the world.
Construction of The Q went ahead despite widespread community opposition to the track including a petition which gathered 73,000 signatures.
