NSW Govt confirms charges laid against prominent racing figure

The Animal Justice Party’s Emma Hurst revealed in NSW Parliament that Shayne Stiff is under investigation.

 
The Minns Government confirmed that the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission has issued charges against Mr Stiff for an “incident at the Wentworth Park racetrack on 14 August 2025.”
 
Special Minister of State John Graham said GWIC “conducted an investigation into allegations against Mr Stiff” and obtained “CCTV footage of the kennel area during the race meeting“.
 
He said: “The commission has now issued charges against Mr Stiff for a breach of the Greyhound Racing Rules.”
 
A hearing will be held on 16 February 2026.
 
Mr Stiff is president of both Greyhound Clubs NSW and Dubbo Greyhound Racing Club.
