Deloitte is a global professional services firm that works with the Australian greyhound racing industry.
A racing journalist describes Deloitte as “a multinational company that have a bit of experience in the greyhound world. They’ve worked with us before.”
Deloitte’s latest project is working with Greyhound Racing NSW on developing a blueprint for the future of the greyhound racing industry in NSW. It attended the Industry Future Summit in May 2025.
GRNSW CEO is coy about naming Deloitte, only referring to a “multi-national corporation”, but participant Shayne Stiff bragged about Deloitte’s “special formula”.
Seven greyhounds were euthanased due to injury during the weeks between the Summit in May and the Blueprint unveiling in July. 465 dogs were injured in races.
Vodka Mother was killed at the track; Glory Bound, Kingsbrae Kim, Rainbow Catley, Bad Girl Robyn, and Shack Up Beast died after suffering serious racing injuries. There are no details about Golden Vella’s fatal injury.
Deloitte fails to meet the bar for ethics and integrity
EIn FY 23-24, 1,046 greyhounds died within the NSW greyhound racing industry from all causes. That’s three dogs each day.
This is the business that Deloitte is keen to be part of. The greyhound racing industry is also boasting of using a “global firm” to secure its future.
Like all professional services firms, Deloitte promotes its high ideals and principles: “When it comes to ethics and integrity, we aim for the highest bar.” And: “At Deloitte, we believe we have a responsibility to be a force for good”.
The University of Technology Sydney walked away from years of advising greyhound racing after an ethics and integrity review.
It’s time Deloitte did the same. Until that happens, graduates should take Deloitte off their prospective employer list – the firm is living in the wrong century, and enabling the deaths of greyhounds.
