Carnage in the “festive season”

The racing industry showed its true colours over the festive season Christmas 2021 break.

The propaganda team spread false cheers. For example, GRV wished “your loved ones (on two legs or four) a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe Festive Season”, while GRNSW said, “give your mate a big cuddle for Christmas.”

Their fake joy was shattered as more than 160 greyhounds were injured in races during the week of 26 – 31 December.

This video shows numerous “incidents” that occurred on the tracks in this period.

Warning: the video shows the suffering of dogs, which the industry calls “entertainment”. It should be watched by proponents of racing and their politician friends.

167 racetrack injuries 26-31 December

  • NSW: 52
  • NT: 1
  • QLD: 29 (one stewards’ report unpublished)
  • SA: 15
  • TAS: 2
  • VIC: 55
  • WA: 13 (one meeting abandoned, one stewards’ report unpublished)

Special shout-out to Cannington, WA, with nine injuries at one race meeting. The worst in the week. A happy and safe festive season, indeed.

  1. This barbaric industry of animal suffering and death for the entertainment and profit of a small minority is not acceptable. Close it down.
