The horrific racetrack agony of two-year old black and white greyhound My Delight has been captured by race videos.
My Delight had a three-race career that ended at Shepparton on 28 November 2022.
His first race was at Bendigo on 21 October. He won.
His second race was at Bendigo on 29 October. He fell, the stewards’ report saying he “was found to have a right elbow injury and a laceration. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.”
His third race was at Shepparton on 28 November. He struggled.
The stewards’ report states: “My Delight faltered approaching the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have fractured a radius and ulna. My Delight was humanely euthanized.”
