The betting agency Neds is apparently “shattered” that the winning dog Plaintiff is injured and can’t race in a big race at The Meadows VIC on 17 December 2022.
The Neds “slot representative” had won 17 races from 32 starts and won $269,265.
As well as being “shattered”, Neds also said the “freak accident” was “heartbreaking” for all those connected to Plaintiff.
Neds hasn’t appeared to show a similar concern for those dogs that have been killed while racing on the tracks.
In NSW, Neds is one of eight wagering operators to sponsor race rugs in a deal described as the ‘“fastest moving billboards” on four legs.’
Neds sponsors the Number 7 rug.
In NSW this year, ten NSW greyhounds have died on racetracks while wearing Number 7.
Nationwide, more than two dozen greyhounds have died wearing Number 7.
Shattering. Like the bones on their broken legs.
