In October 2023, the greyhound racing death toll reached one hundred dogs killed Australia-wide. October saw the deaths of eight young greyhounds. Their average age was just twenty four months.

Lack of transparency
Clearly, if the racing industry had nothing to hide, it would release animal welfare data freely on a quarterly basis like these lifecycle records.
