April 2024 proved to be the deadliest month for several years when a total of eighteen greyhounds were killed on Australian racetracks.
State governments spend millions of taxpayer dollars on grants and subsidies to prop up the dog racing industry, and this goes against the wishes of their constituents, so they are clearly out of step with the people they are supposed to represent.
