31 greyhounds were put to death on Australian tracks in January 2020. 30 of them broke their legs. None of them were considered worth the estimated $4,000 to save them. Miky Knox broke his neck and was completely paralysed and put to death.
28 greyhounds were killed in January 2019. Despite this increase, state governments and the greyhound racing industry continue to insist they are doing everything possible to reduce on-track deaths and injuries.
