A collation of race video incidents has revealed the dangers that greyhounds face every time they race at the Wentworth Park racetrack.
Wentworth Park is staging the Million Dollar Chase on 24 September 2022, promoted by the racing industry as the world’s richest greyhound race.
Wentworth Park is the deadliest track in NSW in 2022, with five racing deaths. More than 200 dogs have been injured racing there.
More than 40 incidents have been recorded in the videos. Many more incidents have occurred but Greyhound Racing NSW regularly censors race videos, even though taxpayers give millions of dollars to the greyhound racing industry.
Since the Coalition for the Protection of Greyhounds started monitoring stewards’ reports in January 2020, eleven dogs have been killed and more than 700 injured while racing at Wentworth Park.
