Inquiry into Greyhound Racing NSW

THANK YOU

560 people used CPG’s template to make submissions to the Inquiry into Greyhound Racing NSW. And many more made their own submissions.

They highlighted that this industry is unreformable and guilty of cruelty and corruption on an massive scale. They also called for greyhound racing in NSW to end because it does not, and cannot, meet the animal welfare expectations of most Australians.

If you have a few more moments, please click here to send an email to your local MP calling for their support in ending this cruelty.

The Inquiry was prompted by a shocking report by Alex Brittan, the former chief vet of Greyhound Racing NSW. The “Brittan Communique” as it is known documented a cruel, untrustworthy and unreformable industry.

This was supported by whistleblowers who made very disturbing allegations of corruption, nepotism and animal abuse in greyhound racing. You can read more about the Brittan report and appalling suffering of NSW greyhounds here

The Inquiry is calling for submissions across five main areas (Terms of Reference). You can read more about them here and about the Inquiry in general here.

“Until the existing backlog of un-rehomed greyhounds is acknowledged and addressed, it is utterly immoral to allow yet more greyhounds to enter this unsustainable morass of exploitation and suffering.,”

Ex-chief vet, Greyhound Racing NSW
