No water on a hot day
Greyhound was kennelled without water. Trainer was asked to explain why he had not provided water to the greyhound on a hot day – he could not provide a “sufficient excuse”. Greyhound appeared “mildly stressed”.

Top Hunter Valley trainer disqualified for two years after pleading guilty to charges relating to the presence of banned substance in two star greyhounds.
Participants fined for “conduct”
At the Taree NSW track on 9 November 2022, a trainer was fined for his “conduct towards a Steward when notified that his greyhound was to be locked away for the purpose of urine swab.”
Another participant was fined for her conduct “towards a fellow participant”.
GAP Ambassador says he’s been through “not so good greyhounds”
Greyhound Adoption Program and Greyhound Racing Victoria ambassador Ryan Papenhuyzen has said: “I’ve always enjoyed the racing side of things and gradually gone from greyhounds and moved up … I feel like I’ve been through my fair share of tough losses and not so good greyhounds.”
